4 Online Business Rules That’s Everyone Seems to Forgot

Are you a part of the new online entrepreneurial block? Read this article and learn what are the four online business rules that entrepreneurs don’t apply anymore.

If you have the chance to talk with a lot of online entrepreneurs and online business owners, you will find out all kinds of different angles of the online businesses they run. You will hear the different ways they thrive trough barriers and how they avoid some of the basic business rules to get their online business successful and so on …

That reminded us that some of the rules of business have already changed. Not just online, but maybe business rules in general.

  1. You don’t need a college degree, you just need your workcase and leads or connections.

The moment you garduate college, you already have your skills outdated. Technology moves that fast, so you must have an ongoing education and intrest in the market. The important part is to pick a niche and dedicate your time and efforts in knowing everything about it. None of your prospects will care if you have a degree once you have the know-how.

Than you prepare your showcase or portfolio and present a solution to their problem.

  1. You don’t have to have tet-a-tet meetings with Clients.

Doing a business deal, back in the days, meant you must be present to a meeting and have a proper handshake while the paperwork is prepared. That’s past. We are almost living in a virtual world where international contractors will never meet their clients – yet both side have a successful collaboration.

  1. You don’t have to specialize in anything.

As Set Godin once mentioned, you must get high specialization in some niche to become the very best. This is not working anymore, you must offer the right solution, you don’t have to be the ideal provider of it, but you must find out what is the need.

Modern successful entrepreneurs are generalists that specialize in a niche, but in more skills than one, related to that niche. This is a very important change due the fact that the market changes very quickly in online business, and you must adapt.

  1. Benchmarking can make your online business very succseful in foreign markets.

That’s right. Copying can make you successfull. This is a very taboo topic to write about, yet it is true. Other countries in the world have no idea about what is going on in the US and they, or you, can copy a whole business model and translate it for foreign needs and customers.
